Assisted EG Energija in taking over the functions of a service provider for gas supply

EG Energija – a customer-oriented energy company that offers a range of electricity and gas solutions – including CNG and LNG – to business clients received an offer from the distribution system operator AS “GASO” to take part in the last guaranteed supplier negotiations. EG Energija won the procurement that gave the opportunity to take on a part of the functions of the state in the field of gas supply, meaning that from 1 April 2018 the client takes over the functions of a service provider for gas supply to an unlimited range of end-users.
We counselled our client in the matters connected with takeover of the functions to provide complete compatibility with the regulations; drafted all the necessary documentation including the payment settlement system that states not only the rights, but also obligations of the parties in the form of gas supply contract.
The innovation of the deal lays at the basis of the field of knowledge – energy sector and open gas markets in conjunction with the delegated functions of the state that need to be fulfilled in strict compliance with the regulation as well as the orders for licencing the services and informing the consumers.
