WALLESS advises a wind energy developer in Estonia in connection with several wind parks

WALLESS represents and advises Adepte Group, a wind energy developer in Estonia, in disputes and other matters concerning Tootsi, Varja, Päite-Vaivina and other wind parks on mainland Estonia. Disputes mostly concern the decision of the Ministry of Defence to prohibit construction of wind turbines on most of the mainland of Estonia since 2014, considering these to be contrary to the interests of national security. The case of Varja is important from both the perspective of enabling development of renewable (wind) energy in Estonia as well as equal treatment of renewable companies. In the last year two cases have been heard by the Supreme Court, including a rare constitutional review of the regulation on the basis of which the the Ministry of Defence has refused construction of wind parks.
