FIMA Smart Infrastructure signs €102.8M agreement for Rail Baltica’s signalling upgrade
WALLESS • Lithuania
The largest contract in FIMA’s history is now part of Rail Baltica. The company has signed a €102.8 million agreement with LTG Infra for the design, installation and maintenance of the signalling system on the section from the Lithuania–Poland border to Palemonas – a key step towards safer and faster train travel across the Baltics.
The project covers approximately 130 km of railway line, 10 stations and 40 level crossings. The European-gauge section will be integrated into the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), modernising Lithuania’s rail infrastructure and improving the safety and efficiency of railway traffic.
WALLESS advised FIMA throughout the process, including multiple legal proceedings along the way. The team was led by Partner Laura Ziferman, with Associate Partner Giedrė Banytė-Mačionė, Senior Associate Ingrida Grabienė and Junior Associate Erika Vičaitė.
Congratulations to the FIMA Smart Infrastructure team – the signal is green!
