“An employee was given a notice of termination. After that, the employee took sick leave, does not answer phone calls, and does not contact the employer.
Is there a legal basis in Latvia to dismiss the employee on the third day after the notice or employer should wait until the employee returns to work and the notice expires? It should be noted that the employee has not submitted a written request to exclude the period of temporary incapacity from the time period of the notice of termination.
