Advising the joint bookrunners on Ignitis Group’s first European Green Bond issue
Ignitis Group has successfully placed €300 million of five-year bonds in its first issue under the European Green Bond standard. The offering attracted strong investor demand and was more than three times oversubscribed, reflecting market confidence in Ignitis Group.
The rules governing these bonds specify which green activities the money can support, how its use is reported and what must be independently reviewed. This gives investors greater transparency about how their funds are used.
Working alongside Linklaters, WALLESS advised BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, J.P. Morgan, MUFG, SEB and Swedbank on the transaction. Our team was led by Partners Joana Baublytė-Kulvietė, Laurynas Narvydas and Associate Partner Svetlana Rudaja.
