Gita Daukste

Gita specialises in corporate and commercial law, corporate governance and legislative matters. She has significant experience in the interpretation and application of Company Law, as well as in corporate reorganisations, corporate governance and corporate sustainability matters. Her professional perspective is shaped by her involvement in European Union legislative initiatives and by studies undertaken in Portugal and Spain.

Prior to joining WALLESS, Gita spent more than five years at the Ministry of Justice of Latvia, where she contributed to major company law reforms, including the reform of the corporate conversion, merger and division framework and the introduction of parental leave rights for executive board members, as well as representing Latvia in European Union and OECD working groups on company law and corporate governance matters. In addition to her legal qualifications, Gita holds an MBA degree, enabling her to combine legal expertise with a strong understanding of the business environment and clients’ commercial objectives.
