What helps make investor-State dispute settlement more effective?
It is not only about procedures. Shared experience, different perspectives and open dialogue are equally important, especially when disputes cross borders.
At WALLESS, we value being part of this conversation. Last week, our Partners and Attorneys-at-Law Sandis Bērtaitis and Simona Drukteinienė, were in Stockholm to take part in a regional workshop organised by International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
The workshop brought together arbitration lawyers from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries nominated to serve on the ICSID Panels of Arbitrators and Conciliators. As Panel Members, Sandis and Simona were among the experts at the event, where recent developments at ICSID, case procedures and practices, and current issues in investor-State dispute settlement were discussed.
Bringing together professionals from across the region creates an opportunity to share perspectives, learn from one another and better understand how the field is evolving.
We are grateful to ICSID for creating a space for meaningful exchange and bringing the region together.
