WALLESS representatives discuss business leaders’ openness and workplace mobbing at the LAMPA Conversation Festival

At the LAMPA Conversation Festival, WALLESS representatives Sandis Bērtaitis and Māra Beķere participated in discussions on topical issues in business and the workplace, addressing both public communication by entrepreneurs and workplace mobbing.

WALLESS Partner Sandis Bērtaitis participated in the discussion ”What do Latvian entrepreneurs choose not to say publicly – and why?”, together with fellow panellists Agnese Garda, Tamāra Rubene, Katrina Zariņa and Evita Goša.

The discussion focused on why business leaders are sometimes reluctant to speak openly, what discourages public dialogue, and how to create an environment where entrepreneurs feel more confident sharing their views.

Meanwhile, WALLESS Senior Associate Māra Beķere participated in the discussion ”Invisible scars at work. How common is mobbing in the Latvian work environment?”, alongside other experts, exploring the impact of workplace mobbing, the line between workplace conflict and psychological violence, and practical ways to create safer work environments.

The discussion highlighted that proving workplace mobbing is rarely easy. This is why it is essential to take all possible steps to prevent or stop it within the workplace before the matter reaches court. Another important takeaway was that there can never be too much evidence. Saving emails, correspondence, screenshots and other relevant records in a timely manner can make a significant difference if a dispute later arises.

Both discussions highlighted important issues surrounding open communication, safe working environments and corporate responsibility, raising awareness of the challenges faced by both entrepreneurs and employees.
