WALLESS hosts Fintech Latvia Association breakfast event: Talent availability
WALLESS had the honor of hosting one of the Fintech Latvia Association breakfast events, this time on the topic of Talent Availability.
Together with industry experts, we engaged in an insightful discussion on topics such as the experiences of local and foreign talent recruitment in the industry, the offerings of higher and professional education, and its alignment with industry needs.
Key takeaways:
· Highly qualified talent in Latvia: While Latvia boasts highly skilled professionals, during phases of rapid growth in Fintech companies, the local workforce often falls short, requiring a search beyond borders and the recruitment of talent from other countries.
· Improvement opportunities in talent relocation: There is room for growth in Latvia in terms of foreign talent relocation and integration processes, making interactions with state institutions simpler and more efficient.
· English as a working language: In many companies, the industry language is already English. As quoted by the CEO of the Fintech Latvia Association , Tina Luse: “Proficiency in languages is our strength, and we won’t lose our Latvian identity if we adopt English in the business environment. On the contrary, it can help attract and retain talent that drives business growth.”
We are delighted and grateful to all the participants who shared their experiences and contributed to the engaging discussions:
Kristine Dambe, Māra Pētersone, Jelena Anoshina, Tatjana Kulapina, Rita Jevdokimova, Marta Ancāne, Anna Andersone, Ieva Felman, and Sintija Radionova.
The Fintech Breakfasts are organized by the Fintech Latvia Association in collaboration with Latvijas Banka in English and the Finanšu ministrija/ Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia.
