Panel discussion: Bankability and Investment Landscape for Solar Projects in the Baltics

What are the challenges that solar, hybrid, and renewable projects face in terms of bankability? WALLESS partner Vaidotas Puklevičius discussed it with Jonas Urbonas, Maarten de Jonge, Arnoldas Gaudiešius, and Anneli Ivanov.

Participants noticed that despite the global turbulence, banks are interested in financing renewable projects. However, developers need a stable legal system for lenders to provide funding. There are legislative gaps and regulatory issues in Lithuania that need to be resolved, and new concepts of hybrid generation need to be utilized, along with increased investment in energy storage facilities.
