ESG Breakfast
WALLESS Latvia gave a presentation to the members of the Latvian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LVCA) on legal requirements for the manufacture of green investment products – Light Green and Dark Green alternative investment funds.
Andis Ozolins, WALLESS Associate Partner, Attorney at Law, shared his experience regarding associated practical challenges. One of the main issues for alternative investment fund managers remains the poor availability of data when investments are made in small and medium-sized enterprises.
Key takeaways from WALLESS&LVCA ESG Breakfast:
• EU taxonomy alignment requires certain knowledge and effort;
• proper disclosure of information under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) requires the collection and analysis of information that may not be readily available;
• future developments of the EU’s regulatory framework will call for ESG-related disclosures on the part of the increasing number of undertakings that are bound to increase information availability also for SFDR purposes.
