A new rulebook for consumer credit in Lithuania from 20 November 2026
Lithuania’s consumer credit rules are changing. Is your business ready? Read our full client alert on the changes below.
From 20 November 2026, the new framework – implementing the EU’s Consumer Credit Directive (CCD2), alongside separate local rules for P2P lending platforms – will affect consumer lending terms and activities, certain product types (e.g. overdrafts, rent/leasing, deferred payments), as well as P2P lending platform operations.
WALLESS invites you to use this moment to look at where the new rules touch your business and what may need attention before they take effect. Partner Joana Baublytė-Kulvietė and Senior Associate Grėta Šumskytė will help you map that and decide where preparation is worth starting.
