What factors still contribute to fewer women leading businesses?
Women are still underrepresented on company boards. That reality shaped the conversation at “Verslo genas,” where WALLESS Partner Alina Makovska joined Inga Langaitė, Rugilė Butkevičiūtė and Dovilė Čiūtaitė-Ilevičienė, moderated by Ieva Dirmaitė.
Alina’s legal note was straightforward: board-gender quotas are no longer optional. Listed companies must already meet them, and from next July large private firms will follow suit. The rule forces boards to widen their search and bring qualified women into decision-making roles. Questions about “quota vs. merit” usually quiet down once performance speaks for itself.
Kudos to Lrytas for giving today’s business community a forum focused on practical action.
