WALLESS strengthens its Dispute Resolution and Financial Regulation practices with two new Partners

2026 01 19

WALLESS has promoted Tomas Balčiūnas and Simona Vosylienė to Partner, strengthening the firm’s expertise in two areas that are particularly important for businesses: dispute resolution and financial regulation and compliance.

Tomas Balčiūnas has over a decade of experience in litigation and commercial arbitration. In his practice, a dispute is rarely just a legal process – it is a business decision: when to negotiate, when to defend a position to the end, and where the line lies between principle and a pragmatic outcome for the business. “Becoming a Partner at WALLESS means taking on greater responsibility for the solutions we offer and the results we help clients achieve. Every situation is different, and my priority is to understand the client’s context and deliver a practical, though not necessarily standard, solution,” says Tomas Balčiūnas.

Simona Vosylienė has more than 13 years of experience in financial regulation, licensing, compliance and anti-money laundering. She links her professional growth to her decision to specialise in financial regulation in 2016, when Lithuania became a fintech hub and the focus on payments and anti-money laundering prevention increased. “For leaders in regulated financial sector companies, clarity is everything: what can be done, under what conditions, and within what timeframe. My goal is to ensure clients have a clear action plan and can grow their business with confidence, without creating risks for the future,” says Simona Vosylienė.

“It is especially rewarding that both new Partners have been with WALLESS for many years and have grown as professionals within the firm. Tomas’ and Simona’s promotions reinforce our commitment to providing clients with truly individual attention and the highest quality of service. As the influence of artificial intelligence continues to grow, it becomes even more important for law firms to have a strong proportion of highly experienced professionals who can help clients make business decisions. This consistent focus is also reflected in our steadily improving rankings in international legal directories such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500 and IFLR1000, where WALLESS is placed in the top tiers across key areas of business law,” says Dovilė Burgienė, Managing Partner of WALLESS in Lithuania.

WALLESS provides legal services across the core areas of business law, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, commercial law, public procurement, defence and security, competition law, real estate, tax, dispute resolution and other areas. The firm brings together more than 190 professionals in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
