WALLESS joins as a partner of the investigative journalism fund
Today, Lithuania’s investigative journalism award Pamatai was introduced! It is a long-term initiative designed to strengthen investigative journalism in Lithuania and recognise work that defends the public interest, reinforces accountability, and helps society better understand what matters to the state. The first award will amount to EUR 200 000, making it the largest award in the world dedicated to investigative journalism.
It is important for WALLESS to be part of this initiative because a strong democracy is impossible without independent journalism, and initiatives like this help raise professional standards and strengthen trust. A special shout-out to Dovilė Burgienė, WALLESS Managing Partner of Lithuania, and Miglė Jeremičiūtė, Senior Associate, for their contribution to this initiative.
The award’s selection process is based on the principles of independence, transparency, and professionalism, and the submissions will be evaluated by an international Selection Committee made up of Lithuanian and international professionals. We invite you to learn more about the initiative, nominate outstanding investigative journalism work, and contribute to the growth of the fund to ensure the award’s long-term impact.
