The MiCA challenge: from VASP to CASP with structure, evidence, and accountability
The move from VASP to CASP under MiCA is setting a new standard for how governance, risk, and compliance align. These themes took centre stage at WALLESS session, where the CASP journey was explored step by step – from understanding the requirements to achieving authorisation.
Discussions led by Laura Garbenčiūtė-Bakienė, Audrius Radišauskas, Joana Baublytė Kulvietė, Laurynas Narvydas, and Simona Vosylienė brought clarity to what this shift means in practice: how boards demonstrate accountability, how control frameworks are tested, and how AML measures and the Travel Rule fit into MiCA’s framework.
From every perspective, one message stood out – lasting success under MiCA comes from structure, evidence, and clear accountability.
