Riga hosted the first international defense and innovation summit “Drone Summit 2025”
The first international defence and innovation summit, Drone Summit 2025, took place in Riga, bringing together over 1,000 experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to address global security and defence challenges.
WALLESS partner and legal expert Andis Ozoliņš joined the panel “Breakthroughs in Drone Technology: AI, Scalability, and Autonomous Systems”, where a dynamic discussion unfolded. One of the key takeaways: while there’s no shortage of innovative drone products and ideas, the legal framework for autonomous systems and AI still needs to evolve. Gaps in regulation can create uncertainty for producers. The goal shouldn’t be overregulation, but rather, legal clarity that supports stable and sustainable innovation.
Meanwhile at the Expo, alongside companies from more than 16 countries, we had insightful conversations about business opportunities in the Latvian market-and we were thrilled to see such strong interest.
It was a true honor for WALLESS to take part in this event, organized by RTU and the Ministry of Defense, and to contribute with our legal expertise to help foster business development in this sector in Latvia.
