On the International Bar Association stage: corporate governance in the digital world
Technology companies today are forced to rethink: how do you stay compliant when the rules keep changing? This was the starting point of a session co-chaired by Dovilė Burgienė, Managing Partner of Lithuania at WALLESS, together with Simon Link, Partner at Hengeler Mueller, at the International Bar Association 10th Annual Corporate Governance Conference.
Boards now operate in a regulatory environment that is moving faster than the markets themselves. Tougher enforcement, expanding local presence and audit requirements, and rising personal accountability for directors are reshaping day-to-day governance. As Senior Vice Chair of the Corporate and M&A Law Committee, Dovilė brought the perspective of the Baltic region to the IBA leadership table, contributing to discussions on how boards can keep up with these changes.
