Mapping the road ahead: taxes and tax disputes – where can we improve?
From defining tax disputes to analysing emerging case law, Lithuania’s tax community is assessing how the system can become clearer and more efficient. WALLESS Partner Dr Mindaugas Lukas contributed to this discussion as one of the moderators at the practical-scientific conference „Mokesčiai ir ginčai: kur galime tobulėti?“.
Organised by the Lietuvos Respublikos Seimas, VU Teisės fakultetas / VU Law Faculty and the Mokestinių ginčų komisija, the event gathered judges, academics and practitioners for focused exchanges on how tax disputes are understood and resolved in practice. They explored recent developments in case law, the courts’ role, the structure of tax disagreements, and the future of pre-trial procedures – highlighting areas where further development would be beneficial.
