Guoda Šileikytė at Soft Drinks Market 2026: The Legal Side of Green Marketing
“Eco-friendly”, “CO₂ neutral”, “sustainable” – they may sound good. But are they safe to say? More often than not, reputational crises don’t start with big strategic mistakes – they start with a vague label, an unsubstantiated claim, or a well-meaning but legally risky line on packaging. European enforcement is intensifying, Lithuanian law already has a concrete blacklist of prohibited green claims, and another compliance wave is coming. Labels, websites, packaging, sustainability promises – one inaccurate word can be costly.
These were the conversations at the Soft Drinks Market 2026: Between Regulation and Growth forum, organised by the Asociacija Lietuvos gėrimai. Guoda Šileikytė, Associate Partner at WALLESS, spoke on green claims regulation and joined the closing panel debate on where regulation ends and market freedom begins – together with Greta Česnaitytė | LR Aplinkos ministerija, Martynas Gruodis | Lietuvos laisvosios rinkos institutas, Mykolas Karpičius | Cannumo and Vidas Komparskas | Eckes-Granini Baltics.
