Cross-examination workshop for law students at Tartu County Court
WALLESS · Estonia
In the courtroom, cross-examination leaves no room for hesitation – the lawyer’s ability to persuade often shapes the course of proceedings.
At a cross-examination workshop held in collaboration with ELSA Estonia at Tartu County Court, law students gained practical experience of one of the most demanding stages of criminal proceedings. Participants prepared on the basis of a case study and took on the roles of defence counsel or prosecutor.
WALLESS Partner Margo Lemetti and Senior Associate Tanel Kask, together with representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office, provided practical guidance on structuring questioning and selecting appropriate strategy. Participants received immediate and substantive feedback on the logic of their questions, tactical choices, and advocacy skills. This format helps students develop their skills in an environment that reflects the pace and demands of real proceedings.
