Which is more concerning – a cyberattack planned by humans, or one driven by artificial intelligence?
The latter is faster, more sophisticated, harder to detect, and carries consequences that can be far more damaging than traditional threats.
On September 25, these questions took center stage at the panel discussion “The Future of Cybersecurity: Are We Ready for AI-Driven Threats” during the Latvian Computer Network School IT Conference organized by Opticom. The discussion brought together experts from different fields, including WALLESS Associate Partner Arina Stivriņa, to examine how businesses can navigate this new security landscape.
One of the key takeaways from the event was that artificial intelligence can serve both as a serious threat by making attacks easier to carry out, and as a valuable ally by enabling faster detection and mitigation of risks. For example, an AI-powered chatbot can educate employees by answering their questions about internal documents and security requirements, thereby reducing the risk of human error.
