Iron Wolf Capital leads €2.5M investment in Blackswan Space
Some estimates suggest Earth’s orbit could hold up to 100,000 satellites by 2030. Yet most spacecraft still depend on the ground to know what is next to them, which makes avoiding collisions, servicing and refuelling in orbit far harder than it needs to be.
Iron Wolf Capital has led a €2.5 million round in Blackswan Space, a Lithuanian space tech company working to reduce that dependence. For Iron Wolf, the investment fits its focus on backing technologies early that can help Europe reduce its dependence on third countries.
Blackswan’s navigation kit lets spacecraft see and manoeuvre around other objects on their own. The funding will take it on its first flight to orbit in 2027, and Orbit Fab already plans to use it for Europe’s first in-space refuelling demonstration in 2028.
WALLESS advised Iron Wolf Capital on the investment. The team was led by Partner Andrius Ivanauskas, with Associate Reda Stalioraitytė and Senior Associates Ieva Šmigelskaitė and Mykolas Lukšėnas.
Congratulations to Iron Wolf Capital, Blackswan Space and all investors in the round. Next stop: orbit!
